Policies and Frequently Asked Questions
Before your first visit, please create an account and sign up online for all classes. We use MindBody Online for all scheduling and payments. Include all contact information (mobile phone number and your main personal email) so that we may reach you in case of an emergency.
Arrive early – 10-15 minutes before start time. If you do not sign up online, or you are late arriving, we cannot guarantee your spot in class. Walk-ins will be accepted on a first come first served basis. Please register and pay for class before it starts.
Sorry, class packages and monthly memberships are non-transferable (you cannot share your package or your monthly unlimited membership with someone else).
Class packages are good for ongoing classes. “Workshops” or "Specialized Series" are independent and require a separate registration. Fees and descriptions are listed under Workshops and Specialized Series.
Sorry, we cannot offer refunds. Studio account credit is offered on a case by case basis.
In order to be fair to other clients, class reservations must be canceled at least at least 4 hours in advance or you will be charged for that class or assessed a late cancel fee of $10 if you are a member. Workshops and Specialized Series must be cancelled within 24 hours of the start time of the first class in order to receive studio account credit.
Class packages and monthly unlimited options expire as listed. Please keep these dates in mind with your schedule in purchasing the right package for you. We do not offer refunds for any purchases. Studio account credit is granted on a case by case basis.
Please note that we may cancel any class due to weather, enrollment or emergencies. Please make sure you check the online schedule frequently and your contact information is up to date including your phone number.
No cell phones, heavy perfumes or food in class, please. Bring your own mat to the hot studio, we do not lend mats for hot classes.
Late Policy: If a class is full, the wait-listed students will be admitted at start time. Therefore no late admittance will be allowed. If the class is not at capacity, we will allow up to 5 minutes late. A fee will be charged for Late Cancel (under 4 hours) or No Show.
Wait List: If you sign up for a wait-list you are expressing your interest in attending the class up until one hour before start-time. You will receive an email notification if you have been admitted you into the class. If you no longer feel you could make it to class, please log into your account and remove your name. Late or No Show fees may apply.
Parking We have several assigned parking spots in Del Ray only. Please obtain a parking pass from inside the studio as soon as you park. Only park in Mind the Mat designated spots and return the pass after your class. There is a towing company, not associated with Mind the Mat LLC, that monitors this lot and we have no control over the tow truck. The Arlington location does not have designated spots, please allow ample time to find street parking. If you are towed, Mind the Mat is not financially responsible for the associated fees.
If you have an injury or medical condition or history of an injury or medical condition, it is your responsibility to inform your physician before starting our classes. If you are unsure of whether your medical history will permit your participation, please email Megan Brown, DPT prior to enrolling in classes: email@example.com
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to reserve my spot in class ahead of time?
Absolutely, please manage your schedule online. We try our best to find space for walk-ins, but we require pre-registration for your convenience. Please read our full policy list on scheduling. Download the MindBody Connect App for even more ease with managing your schedule! Remember we require 4 hours notice for all cancellations.
How does the waitlist work?
If you find yourself on a waitlist don't be discouraged! The waitlist truly works. Once someone cancels, you will automatically be enrolled off of the waitlist. You will receive an automatic email, so please make sure you check your email often just in case. You can also log into your account and check to see if you have been admitted. If you are waitlisted but not admitted to the class via our online system, we don't recommend that you show up for class anyway. There is a chance you will be admitted, but only if a registered client does not show up. If you decide to register for a different class, please remove yourself from the waitlist.
Does MtM have showers?
No, we do not have showers or locker rooms at either location. We do offer a small changing area and lounge in our Hot Studio in Del Ray.
Do you offer mats?
Yes, but not in our Hot Studio in Del Ray, please bring your own mat and towel for our hot classes. Pilates mats are different from yoga mats in that they are padded and thicker. We require the use of Pilates mats in our regular mat classes for your safety.
How early should I arrive and what is your late policy?
Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in, get settled and zen-out. Many of our classes fill and have wait-lists. If you are pre-registered for a class and you do not arrive on time, your spot may be given to a wait-listed client. If you late cancel (we require at least 4 hours notice) or do not show for your pre-registered class, you will be assessed a $10 fee if you are a member. If you have a class package, that session will be considered "used" if you do not show for your class.
Do you offer parking?
We have designated parking only in Del Ray. Please park in MtM designated spots only then come inside to obtain a parking pass. We are not responsible for towed vehicles and the towing policy is out of our control. We do not offer parking in Arlington so please plan ahead to find off street spots.
How do I know what class is appropriate for me?
MtM is a unique studio. Each teacher and each class is different so that your body and mind experience a variety of expert disciplines. Please read each class description before signing up for class. Some classes like Pilates Boot Camp require shoes while other classes require your own mat and towel.
